Email Set Up Instructions

Below are instructions for setting up your email
for Outlook Express and Outlook 2003

The information that you need for setting up the accounts are included in the email your recieved when the account was set up. If you have problems or questions please feel free to call 515-262-4143 or 1-866-262-4143

OUTLOOK EXPRESS SET UP

Open Outlook Express.

Choose Accounts from the Tools menu. The Internet Accounts window will open.

Click the Mail tab. This will show you any e-mail accounts that are currently set up in Outlook Express.

Click the Add button. A menu will pop up; choose Mail.

The Internet Connection wizard will appear to guide you through a series of configuration steps for the e-mail address you want to add.

Enter your name as you want it to appear in your e-mails. This is the name that will show in the FROM line on emails that you send.

Click Next.

 

Enter the full e-mail address that you want to add.

Click Next.

 

My incoming mail server is a: POP3

Incoming mail [POP3, IMAP or HTTP): Enter mail.mydomain.com (subsitute "mydomain" with your domain name. ie: mail.sallysplace.com)

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
Enter mail.mydomain.com (subsitute "mydomain" with your domain name. ie: mail.sallysplace.com)

Click Next.

 

Enter the following information provided in the email you received when your account was set up:

Account name: The full email address

Password: The e-mail password. Passwords are case sensitive so enter this exactly as provided.

The option entitled "Logon using Secure Password Authentication" should NOT BE CHECKED.

Click Next.

On the next screen Click FINISH.

 

 

In the column entitled Account, highlight the new account you just created and click the properties button.

 

If you have more than one email account you may want to change the Mail Account title on the General Tab from mail.myaccount.com to something that you recognize.

 

Click the Servers Tab.

Check the option entitled "My Server Requires Authentication". This must be checked in order for you to send email.

Click APPLY.

Click OK.

Click Close on the Internet Account Screen.

OUTLOOK 2003 SET UP

Open Outlook.

Choose E-Mail Accounts from the Tools menu.

The E-Mail Accounts window will open.

Select the "Add a new e-mail account" option.

Click Next.

 

Server Type: Select the POP3 option

Click Next.

 

Your Name: Enter the name that you want to appear in the FROM line when you send an email.

Email Address: Enter the FULL email address for the account that you are adding.

User Name: Enter the FULL email address for the account that you are adding.

Password: Enter the password for this account. Passwords are case sensitive so enter this exactly as provided.

Incoming Mail Server (POP3): Enter mail.mydomain.com (subsitute "mydomain" with your domain name. ie: mail.sallysplace.com)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Enter mail.mydomain.com (subsitute "mydomain" with your domain name. ie: mail.sallysplace.com)

Click More Settings.

 

In the General Tab you can give this account a more recognizable name. You may want to do this especially if you have more than one email account.

Click the Outgoing Server Tab.

Check the box for "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"

"Use the same settings as my incoming mail server" should be selected.

Click OK.

On the E-Mail Accounts Window click NEXT.

On the next window click FINISHED.
